We will meet at Konak Pizza & Grill 5150 N. Clark at 5:00p for a pre-show meet and greet, then walk over to the theatre at 6:15 SHARP. Doors open at 6:30p. Show starts at 7:00p.
The Neo-Futurist's signature show, Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, which had its first performance on December 2, 1988, is now in its 20th year, making it the longest-running show in Chicago today. Too Much Light..., with its ever-changing "menu," is an attempt to perform 30 plays in 60 minutes.
The single unifying element of these plays is that they are performed from a perspective of absolute honesty. The performers always appear as themselves on stage, speaking directly from their personal experiences. Each short play is written by a performer, honed by the ensemble, and randomly collaged with twenty-nine other plays through high-energy audience participation. Each week, these plays shift as ensemble members add new plays to the existing body of work. Each night of performance, they create an unreproducable living newspaper collage of the comic and tragic, the political and personal, and the visceral and experimental.
The show will be performed at The Neo-Futurarium.
The Neo-Futurarium is located at 5153 N. Ashland Avenue, Chicago, IL 60640-2831. That's on the southeast corner of Foster and Ashland in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. For directions and a map click here: http://www.neofuturi
