The Tourist Club is an unique oasis, a Beer Garden and Bavarian Chalet, built by German immigrants at the turn of the century, and nestled in the hills of Muir Woods. The place has been closed for renovation, and is just now reopening for the May Festival.
Noted for their excellent selection of German beers and ales, the festival will feature barbecued sausages and other meats. You may also bring your own picnic.
Joe Smiell's Band plays traditional German music for dancing from 2 to 6.
We'll try to rendez-vous in the morning for a hike. This will also allow us to get a space in the parking lot which fills up by noon More info to follow.
The Tourist Club is located 2.2 miles beyond the Muir Woods turnoff from Panoramic Highway.

“ Terrific event! Bonus: a second "blasmusik" band played for dancing from noon to 2:00 p.m. Authentic German food at great prices (the hot sauerkraut was superb). Hard to find German beers. Wonderful setting. The only negative: the steep road down--a killer coming back up to the car (but worth it) ” -
