Jun 5 7:00 PM	Belgium - Belgian New York Social June Meetup No rating yet Belgian Meetup Group New York is organizing a "Ronde van Vlaanderen" pre-race night on April 3, 2009 at Markt (676 6th Ave, NY 10010). The 2009 Tour de Flanders will be held Sunday the 5th of April. While the cyclists will be going to bed at 9pm, eating carb-rich diets and stretching every muscle in their body in preparation; we will be enjoying some carb rich Belgian beers, eating fries with mayonnaise and debating who should go for glory this year. Spring also brought the opening of a new Belgian restaurant/bar to the Big Apple. Café BXL, a tried-and-true Belgian bar in midtown, opened up its second establishment on the East side. We thought this would be an excellent occasion to test if fries are served crispy, with fresh mayonnaise, and Stella is served in accordance with its famous 9 steps pouring ritual.
